Basic Methylene Blue BB(Basic Blue 9) is Reddish brown power.Soluble in water, blue, slightly soluble in ethanol. The dye is yellow-green in concentrated sulfuric acid, and turns blue after dilution. Adding sodium hydroxide to the aqueous solution is purple and a dark purple precipitate is formed.Light fastness is grade 2-3.
